this Ghost Town and Gold Mine Tour. It all
happens in Oatman, Arizona, an authentic western
ghost town and mining camp – located
along historic Route 66.
Founded in 1906 and nestled in the Black Mountains
of the Mohave Desert, Oatman is the lone survivor
of the numerous communities that sprung up
in the area during the Gold Rush days of the
old west.

donkeys that roam the streets of this old west

historic buildings located on this historic

See the Oatman Hotel where Clark Gable and
Carol Lombard spent their wedding night and
where “Oatie The Ghost”, an Irish
Miner who died in 1930, is said to reside.
Lunch is at the Prospector Cafe, then enjoy
a 45-minute guided walking tour of a real old
time underground gold mine is part of this
adventure. It’s always a comfortable
70 degrees in the mine shaft. Discovered in
1902, it has been reported that by 1907, The
Gold Road Mine property had milled 140,000
ounces of Gold.
